The Freeport Town Council and Freeport Arts and Cultural Alliance (FACA) are embarking on an exciting effort to gather information about the creative resources in the Freeport in order to develop a Cultural Plan for the town.
Whether you are a resident of Freeport or just enjoy Freeport’s arts, cultural, and historic activities, your feedback is an essential piece of the cultural planning process.
Upcoming Meeting: Freeport Community Library, Library Drive, Freeport on October 19, 6:30 p.m.
Meeting Outline: Freeport Cultural Plan Strategy Recommendations
Thank you to all who participated in the Freeport Cultural Plan surveys! Final survey results and analysis are available at the links below…
Freeport has had several successful meetings to assess interest in arts and cultural activities, which led to the creation of the Freeport Arts and Cultural Alliance, as well as the Virtual ARTS Kiosk. As a result of these initial meetings, it is clear that the next step is the development of a comprehensive Freeport Cultural Plan to utilize resources strategically and thoughtfully.
When completed, the Cultural Plan will:
- Identify community priorities;
- Provide strategies to enhance and develop arts and cultural opportunities for all residents; and
- Recommend policies to expand the creative economy of Greater Freeport.
We are committed to creating a community-designed plan that will enhance the quality of life for residents as well as the creative economy here in Freeport. Input from engaged citizens throughout this process is critical to the success of this effort.
