Wesserunsett Arts Council (WesArts) had the good fortune to contract with Reinholt Consulting for the creation of the Somerset Rural Cultural Plan. It was a large project since the cultural plan encompassed the whole of Somerset County in Maine. Reinholt Consultants were diligent, resourceful, and imaginative in helping us achieve our goal. As co-chair of the WesArts board, I would recommend Reinholt Consultants and I hope WesArts has the pleasure of working with them at a later time as we implement our cultural plan.
The process of developing the Cultural Plan for the Tri-County Region of Southern Aroostook, Northern Penobscot and Northern Washington Counties was beneficial for us on many levels. It brought many people together from throughout the region who have not collaborated in the past. It provided for heightened education for all of us about what is available in our region. It also gave us common goals to pursue so we can work together to make the region even more attractive to residents and visitors alike. The guidance from Reinholt Consulting throughout this process was exceptional. They were dedicated to our needs and professional in all of our encounters with them. Both Saskia and Emily bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the process and they were extremely generous with both. We are very happy with the final product of the Cultural Plan we received for our area. Much of that credit goes to Reinholt Consulting!
Saskia successfully facilitated connecting and building bridges between the many cultural organizations in North Franklin County, Maine. Her planning process spurred the creation of the High Peaks Creative Council (HPCC) which is now led by arts and cultural leaders from around the region. This was no small task in a sprawling, rural area populated by people known for their independence. Due to Saskia's organization, positive attitude and professionalism, it was the first time that artists, museums, galleries, historical societies and event organizers had successfully been brought together to collectively drive arts in the region. Through cultural planning, the High Peaks region has continued to benefit from increased collaborative efforts including coordination of events, mutual support, and ongoing creative placemaking projects that benefit the quality of life, sense of place, and create economic development. Saskia’s good work has forever, positively, changed arts and culture in the High Peaks of Maine.
